Default Frame damage, questions

Hi
I have an 86 5.0 with a bad motor and trans, rust on the quarters, doors, and rocker panels, and pretty worn out interior. I just bought an 88 5.0 with good motor, trans, good interior, clean body, except forward of the firewall is pretty much trashed from an accident. My question is which would be easier/more feasible to do..

1) Take the drivetrain and cut out all the rust free body panels out of the '88 and move them to the '86 along with the interior or..

2) would it be possible to cut the front half of the '86 off (maybe bolt?? I'm new to fox bodies, no idea how the body/frame works on these things, haven't looked too hard yet) and transfer it over to the '88?

Thanks for any help..

If the front end is horribly bent, it will have to be cut out and welded in. i've seen it done before and i would probably do that before trying to tackle all the rust. but you need a frame shop to do it, don't try it at home.

Maybe take of the quarter panels and bumper to make it easier for them but some people will charge you the same price no matter what so its best to call around

I should probably also add that I'm not looking for a show car, I just want to go fast. After looking at the cars some more I'm thinking it might be easier and cheaper to use the '86 shell. Buying another car is out of the question right now, I'm making due with what I have even it means a little more work. It looks like the rear quarters won't be too hard to replace. From what I can see grinding off some spot welds and they should come out?? Swapping the drivetrain would take a weekend's work at most. The body panels and interior aren't a priority and could be swapped over time.

Just typing out my thought process here, tell me I'm an idiot if I'm not thinking right..
