Default Stock block with a 331 stroker questions

I'm going to be bulding a 331 stroker soon. How much will the stock block hold up to? Has anyone used the DSS Main Support and had any luck? I'm using a set of Trick Flow Twisted Wedges and a Vortech S-Trim keeping the boost at about 16 pounds.

500-550 at the flywheel, keep the rpm down as cap walk/chatter is what breaks the blocks. The main girdle wont do anything to keep the block from breaking. 16lbs is alot

What block should I go with. I don't have the budget for a Dart or World block. I just don't want to do all of this and crack the block.

Aftermarket is your only option, or turn the boost down

So the main support isn't going to help?

What about splaying the caps? This is the first 302 I've messed with. I just don't want to crack the block. I've been reading on the DSS motors and they are stock blocks with the main support making 650+ so they say. Like I said this is my first 302 build so I'm looking for any suggestions you have. I just want a good 331 that I can run street strip and hoping to run 7's in the 1/8. thanks

Stock 302 Roller Blocks will handle anywhere from 450-550 RWHP but its a Crapshoot how long it will last.I would NOT put a quality rotating Assembly in a Stock block just to see the block Crack and destroy a good Rotating Assembly. If you want to SAFELY and RELIABLY run that much power or More go with an Aftermarket Block. Its the only option and Trust me,when you finally do lay down the cash for the block you will be Bigtime relieved because that should be the last block you would ever have to buy.
