Default unruley freeze, core plugs.

The haynes manual says they may be impossible to retrieve, but there's gotta be a way.... anybody know how to get this problem fixed before i hot tank this thing.

it's very easy to get the freeze plugs out of the block. If they are still in place, take a punch and small hammer and knock them inward on one side. It will turn the plug sideways in the hole. If they happen to fall into the block just fish them out with your finger or punch and grab them with a pair of pliers and presto. They will be out. Need not forget about the oil galley plugs on the cam tunnel either, they need to be removed before hot tanking a block or you will wished you had once you re-assemble and run the engine. This is usually done by a machine shop, but they can be removed at home also.

its the engine is out of the block, you can drill holes and slide hammer them out. might even take long though
