Default Do I need anything else??

Last Friday I purchased a 306 shortblock with a set of AFR heads w/ upgraded 7/16ths studs and an upgraded spring package. I also purchased a custom ground cam from Flowtech industries.

So far this week from Summit i purchased:

ARP Cyl head studs
Comp Roller Rockers
Comp Timing Chain
Comp roller lifters
Head gasket set for AFR 165cc heads
Complete Felpro gasket set
Powermaster Starter
Ford Racing water pump
MSD Blaster coil
K&N Oil filter
Polyurithane Motor Mounts
160* thermostat
Summit MAF 30# w/ cold air tune
Powermaster 200A altenator
30# ford racing injectors

I already have:
MSD 9mm wires
MSD ignition
MSD Bullet Dist
Royal Purple 10/30 oil
New oil pan w/ pickup tube
New high flow Ford racing oil pump
Hardned pushrod for oil pump

I know I need:
I have a guy coming to degree the cam to make me pushrods this Saturday.
antifreeze
header bolts
trans fluid

Can anyone think of ANYHTING else i will need. EVEN if its nitty gritty. I want to buy everything and get it over with.

Thank you,

I would go with a 180* thermostat...What intake, TB and gears are you running? ..also what Roller Rockers?? and I'd also get hardened push rods...

Why Would you say 180 over the 160? I ahve an edelbrock Performer II upper and Lower w/ a 1" spacer. I have 4.10 gears and i got: COMP Cams Pro Magnum Roller Rocker Arms, Stud Mount, Full Roller, Steel, 1.6 Ratio, Fits 7/ 16 in. Stud

I will definitley get hardned pushrods.

Anything else you can think of?

That wa son the good oll list i just frogot to write it down. I do have a question on that though. When I get the car all together and get everything installed can i start and run the car before having it tuned? I heard the 94/95 ECU's hate mod's and people have had serious issues!

Any input is appreciated!

My experience with 5L engines is that they make better HP with the 180*...160* too cold and then to run fat/rich IMO!!

Trust me, I ran a 625hp Fox with nothing but a 180*

..overall, sounds like a pretty nice set-up!! ...set the timing at 15-17 deg with good fuel & your Pony is going to move REAL good!! ...You'll need an adjustable fuel pressure regulator for sure!!

I recommend you Buy Chromoly Pushrods over Hardened they will withstand ALOT more abuse than a hardened pushrod.I would also like the above poster did,Recommend a 180 Thermostat over the 160.160 is just not hot enough to get the engine up to Operating Temperature where the motor makes its best Power and is most efficient.DONT FORGET to Prime your Oilpump Counterclockwise 2-3 minuites before you start it for the first time!!!!!!
