Default Fuel Pump Won't Stop!

You know when you turn the key into the on position and your fuel pump makes that noise for a second, mine is doing that constantly if the battery is connected.

I compression started my car because my battery died, and then it started doing that.

What's causing this, how do I fix it, And is it safe to drive?

The fuel system is completely stock.

I went back out to and reconnected the battery to trouble shoot and it didn't happen.

I'm hoping this is just an Uh Oh, but just in case I'd still like to know about this if anyone knows.

Sometimes when a Fuel Pump relay starts to go bad the contacts in the relay stick closed causing the power supply to be constant to the fuel pump. I would be looking there first if you have that happen again.

The Relay idea struck me while I was on the treadmill at the gym, I picked one up on the way home and that seemed to do the trick.

Try switching relays to see if it is a fuel pump relay.

I didn't know that about the battery, I'll be buying one this week. The one in there right now is too small and it's old anyhow, I've just been putting it off.

Check it with a volt meter. A fully charged battery has 12.6 volts.
