3.73 gears
im thining about getting a set of 3.73 gears and new seals and bearings for my 8.8 in my 93 gt. also going to throw in a fully locking differential. i just want some input before i spend the money, i know this is going to kill my gas mileage, but how much? what kind of rpms would i be turning in 5th gear? and any other info yall wanna throw at me is appreciated. thanks.

It wont be too bad on the highway, 3.73's are a great gear for street driving and a little strip action in my opinion. I had 3.73's and I cannot remember what RPM it was at 60 mph...but I think around 2k maybe slightly lower?

with 3.73's you be pulling like 2,200 rpm's at 60 mph....You'll only loose about 2 mpg with the 3.73's....If your going through the cost of putting in bearings & a new carrier, I would convert to 31 spline axles if you plan on racing!
....about 2,000 rpm's with 3.55's
....about 2,000 rpm's with 3.55's

thanks! i was thinking about the 31 splined axles and i think what im going to do is piece all the stuff together gradually, that way i dont dump 500 bucks at once. im 18 starting my career out as a service technican at a dodge dealership and between paying the tool guy off for 15000 worth of tools, i still want to have a car to play around in. haha. i just bought a mac catback for my car and it should be here tomorrow. and the next thing im going to buy is msd ignition system.
