When it doesn't start, have you checked to see if it's a fuel or spark related issue?

it happens just at idle the car has spark so it seems to be a fuel problem but i dont know anything about carburators so im kinda lost about this weather it needs more fuel pressure or if the carb is bad or needs rebuilt

can't hurt to rebuild the thing if its been sitting for a long time or at least clean it out with some 2+2.

If it starts to die on you have you tried clearing it out? by that I mean give it half gas let the accelerator pump put the gas in it and then floor it for a second to burn up any residual gas which may have built up. Sounds to me like it may be loading up on you. what size carb is it cfm wise?

Gumcutter 2+2 is just a bad *** brand of carb cleaner. Did you try adjusting the choke or if its a vacume one checking the vacume levels and see if its pulling the right ammount.
