you really think it would take a cam like that to make 250rwhp...

what about one with .479/.479 lift and 209/209 duration @ .050
with, lets say... a cobra intake, shorty headers, O/R pipe, and a catback

The examples I gave you take advantage of the heads flow, at those power levels a Cobra intke would be OK but for the cost differance I would move into something with a bit more going for it.

As far as the Combo you listed I don't know because I've never tried it and I only see lift and duration @.050 so it doesn't tell me that much. I'd bet money it would make much over 250 at the wheels. Every dyno is differant and air quality, altitude, temp can all twist the numbers up. But if thats the combo you were talking about that made 276hp at the wheels is I would have to see it to beleive it using untouched heads on a stock 5.0. I've seen stranger things and not much of anything surprizes me any more.

I really wish I still had the dyno sheets... The engine was factory stock, had the above mentioned mods and a 70mm tb, and a set of UDP's

after about 3 weeks of tuning with my wideband and tweecer I went back and ran the car again. Made like 12 runs. and managed the 276hp with fuel and timing.

its amazing how much power you can find when you go from 15.5:1-13:1 afr's
I ran so lean on the dyno when I made the 253hp passes that the dyno op didnt even want to let me run!

What do you think the chances for the average guy to reach those numbers? Be realistic

I dont see why the average wrench turner cant get those numbers.
a set of P heads, proper cam, and a cobra intake. supported by tb,injectors, maf and a professional tune. easy 300hp. if I can make 276 on a stock cobra engine, with a NON professional tune, then anyone can do the same with p's, cam, and a tune.

im interested to see what CCH's car makes

+1 for correcting the A/F. when i got mine baselined i ran it once and after i saw the 16.1:1 A/F i said ENOUGH. new fuel pump and an adjustable FPR brought it down to 12.8-13:1.
BTW i made 231rwhp on stock E7's, stock 302 (stock cam and all, but a .040" overbore), stock TB, stock MAF, CAI, 13* timing, shorties, and a Magnapack exhaust. that was before getting the A/F fixed, and the OR X so i imagine it was probably closer to ~255rwhp afterwords.
best time on that was a 14.02@95 with a 2.103 60ft.
Adder we shouldve raced back then, wouldve been a hell of a run. you prolly wouldve MPH'd me at around the 1200ft mark.

Im wondering if its worth paying $350 for the crower over the comp 266H-R14 for $280. How much more power would I get with crower and would this require tuning with megasquirt.
