Default Blown head gasket help

I have a 89 5.0 lx with a blown head gasket that I have been using for daily driver. Bottom end is still in great shape, I was planning next year to put in new motor, either a 347 or a crate motor have not really decided. What I would like to do is put on a new set of heads when i do the breakdown on old motor in hopes of using them on new motor later. could I use afr 185's with an e303 cam with the existing setup or would I have to chip computer get larger injectors with larger throttle body. get me some insight on what you guys would do.

The pistons will prolly need notched with the 185's. You wont need to chip the computer. You dont have to get bigger injectors or t-body it would run fine, but you would gain lots more power if you did.

I know you would not have to with the 165's, but if you plan on doing the 347 I would get the 185's.

afr 165's for sure as for the e-cam, choose something better, now if it were me, I'd buy the 185's now and have a custom cam designed so as the valve events were such that piston notching was not a factor, I had a friend do this and he had a cam with .550+ lift on a stock bottom end
