e brake light indicator?
is this what its called. its a little switch looking thing that connects at the back of the prk handle. THe brake light comes on when you turn the key to the on postion so i know its not the bulb.
i can't find these things anywhere! anyone know the exact name?
Is there a way to make sure the wiring is good still or test the little switch. My reverse lights don't work and was thinking it maybe on the same circuit.
i know its not a big deal but since i have the console out already i fig i could throw it on there.
thanks

reverse lights are not part of the e-brake circuit............you need to check the switch down on the tranny, if it's a 5 speed car, disconnect the switch /connector end and jump the two wires and see if lights come on

jump the two wires on the connecter that plugs to the switch? i tested for continuity between the switch ends in rerverse when i had the tranny out a while back
What do you think about the indicator? is it basically a fuse that when it breaks the conncection by lifting the e brake triggering the light to come on?

so did the switch operate correctly then??.....as for e-brake switch, you'll need to look at a diagram and see if the switch is controlling the ground side, if so bypass switch to see if it turns on the light to verify if it's a bad switch

So i grounded the switch and nothing. i also have continuity between the switch and ground when the handle is down (which it should) and when i pull the handle up there is no continuity between the ground and switch (which it should) so that means the switch is working correctly right?
I also have power to the blue wire to the switch and have a solid ground.
I search for any post on the internet and someone was saying the power runs through the computer to trigger the light, is this right? how can i fig this thing out?
thanks
