Default TrickFlow Twisted Wedge

I am looking at buying a completely stock 91 Mustang GT. I have been looking at parts, I dont really know that much about 302s but a guy from work put trickflow twisted wedge heads on his 5.0 and i was wondering if the Trickflow Twisted wedge top end kit with the heads, intake, and cams is a good set up. Also i was wondering what else would need to be done to make the kit work perfectly. I want to have around 300 horses at the wheels so let me know what you guys think.

for the money you can piece together your own h/c/i that'll out perform the tfs kit, typical untuned results end up being 260-270 rwhp

I was looking at AFR heads and i read a tech article on CarCraft.com and they put afr 165cc heads, and a set of dougs headers on a completely stock 302 from a 90 mustang and the article said they gained 104hp and 53flbs of torque just from the cylinder heads, sounds kind of ridiculous.

I installed a LOT of these kits in my shop. I kept a kit in stock all the time. (Street Heat) The kit comes with everything you need less sealers and fluid. My personal opinion it's a good well matched kit but I'm not real crazy about the cam specs but you won't make huge gains with the cam swapped for a better grind. In a typical 5.0 5speed car they normally fell just a hair under 300rwhp(290-295) with the kit. For an all inclusive kit it's a bargin. If you peice together a kit with EVERYTHING that comes in that kit other than heads, cam and intake it's a bargin. ARP headbolts, full roller rockers, gaskets, valve covers, pushrods, timing chain and gears. You would be hard pressed to peice together a better matching kit than Trick flows Street Burnner Kit for +-2450 dollars. No guesswork involved and with a good set of shorty headers and 70mm Throttle body it works great. The reason we installed the kit's in my shop was turn around time. A guy could bring his car in in the morning and pick it up on his way home.

I could put together a kit that would make more power but not for the price of that kit and the quality of the parts involved. For the DIY who would tend to overcam, over look and buy sub standard parts the kit is great. I loved the kits because when the customer showed up he didn't have to wait a week while his car was pieced together. We did that also but for the average guy just wanting a nice stout street driver it was great. Especially if he counted on that car for everyday transportation. It's a nice Kit, Period.
