Default Spongy Brake problem

My car has a spongy brake pedal.. It still has alittle stopping power once you press it far enough.

Do you think its the master cylinder or does the brakes need to be bleed? I'm kinda confused about this situation. The car sat for year or so.

bleed the brake system, rear to front. (passenger rear, driver side rear, passenger front, driver front) you have air in your system.

That's a good place to start ^^^...could also be the MC or brake booster as well...

if it has sat for an extended period of time check the MC and see if it's full of fluid if it is and after bleeding it you still have a spongy pedal, replace MC, but verify there are no external leaks first which would clue you in on such if the MC was low or empty
