my a/c doesnt blow any cold air. and the compressor doesnt turn on when i hit the switch. my question is, does this a/c have a low pressure switch or something? i know it isnt charged because the PO tried to switch to r134 and never charged it. i think i want to keep the a/c if there is a way to check the a/c without filling it only to findout it leaks all out. so how do i get started checking this thing. is there a way to just check the compressor to see if it will work? car is an 89 lx 5.0 5 spd. thanks

Compressor wont come on if it is low on freeon. You may have to fill it up and maybe get some of that dye to put in it so you can find where it leaks out.
