oh and another thing that i noticed while i was driving home today is that i hear a rattling sound coming from underneath the car when i accelerate and its mostly when i try to accelerate in the lower rpms. what could that be? might that be related to the rest of the issues?

A rattling sound huh. Get a hammer and lightly bang on the cat-converters. If they make any internal noise, like loose metal flying around, you could have a clogged cat. Post results. I'd like to see how everything goes.

yeah thats what i was thinking with the cats but if they are clogged i can just cut them off and weld on a pipe instead right? will it run good like that?

If your cats are clogged, you can just weld in some straight pipes. Just make sure your state does not have emissions.

Clogged cats can cause all kinds of problems in cars if you want to test them before chopping them off. Just unbolt your H-pipe and see how it performs.

Did you do the fuel filter yet? Do you know what your current timing is set at? You could have a clogged cat, but I am a bit hesitant on that one. Just get a hammer and lightly hit each cat. If it rattles inside, chances are one of your cats have fried. Also, a dirty fuel filter can really make your car run bad. But so can your timing. Make sure it is set at 10 degrees at least. You can go up to as high as 16 degrees. But 12-14 is usually a safe bet.
