you could dip that block in gold and pixie dust and it could still split at 400rwhp.
some ppl swear that if you have a REALLY safe tune, that you will be fine with 500-600rwhp, but i wouldent risk it personally.
as for a tran's, if you want a manual, go with a TKO600.
if you want a auto, you can ether go c4/c6 for track use, or a REALLY build AOD would be better for the street.
focus on removing weight, it's free, and will help pretty much everywhere.
