Default HELP ME (Suspension)

I am looking to make my next large investment and I am completely stupid to the stuff I need

I am looking at doing a full suspension setup and heres what I have in mind

K-Member kit: I dont know if I should do coil over suspension or keep the set up the same with all new struts and lowering springs along with tubular LCA's

Caster/Camber Plates: I heard you need these when you lower a mustang, whats a good brand? Maximum Motorsports?

Lowering Springs: Again I need a good Brand, I dont want crappy ride quality but I understand it will suffer a bit.

Shocks/Struts: I dont know what would be needed for a coilover conversion, but if I were to keep the set/up stock, what would be a good choice/brand to find

Bumpsteer kit: Also heard this may be needed?

My ultimate goal is to have a nice ride quality and good handling. I am going to be buying 03/04 17" cobra wheels in a week and I want to make this thing really look good, Low stance, aggressive look. I am not doing a 5 lug conversion. But is there anything else I would need to do this right? I take this car to the strip once in a while just to play around, I have slicks that I put on for that. I do not do road racing events. other than that its just a drive around town toy. Any help is much appreciated.

MaximumMotorsports have some real nice packages that have most if not all the things you are looking to upgrade. Although they are a little bit more expensive compared to other companies, you will never complain about an MM part. The starter box has springs, caster/camber plates, shocks/struts, and spring isolators. Just add in the extra parts and you've got a nice kit, or bump it up to the next kit stage for more items. (I always endorse MM since i love their products)

One thing about the Coil Over kit's is that it suffers on streetability a little bit, as in comfortability, such as if you go over bumps its more noticeable. I can't say for sure personally just from what I have read throughout posts here and there. You do want to get Caster/Camber plates if you lower your car, and if you do your suspension you obviously will want to get shocks/struts since your in there.

Like you said you take it to the strip once in a while, you might want to invest in getting some upper and lower control arms, perhaps a torque arm also if you like to punch it around town more often than not.. and a very important chassis stiffening product would be subframe connectors. I'm assuming you have a fox from your sig, and if thats the case sub frames will be one of the single most important components to get if you were to upgrade one thing suspension/chassis stiffening wise goes.

I already have Upper and Lower Control arms installed on the vehicle. I have Blue Oval industries fully boxed U/LCA's. I have Subframe connectors but they are not installed yet. i will have them installed when I pull everything apart suspension wise.

if it was me...

k-member coil over kit from AJE or TEAM Z....

struts/shocks...strange 10 ways all around (summit racing)...will work with coil overs

rear springs...steeda sport spring...you can buy the rear two for $120 pair...you dont need the front since you will have coil overs from the k-member

Whatever you do, do not install subframes with your suspension removed. You must do it when the suspension is loaded, as in when the car is on a drive on lift or somthing of that sort. I did mine when the car was sitting on top of cinder blocks, stacked 2 high under each wheel. This can be dangerous if not done properly, though. I have a welder so I could do it all myself and didn't want to pay lift time.

The biggest improvement in ride quality I have seen from suspension on my car was doing the subframes, strut tower brace, and k-member brace. It eliminated alot of my daily highway driving noises and made me very happy.

If you'r going tubular k-member and control arms, its going to be pretty rare to find one that is not a coil over conversion.

I'm running alot of Maximum Motorsports parts as well and I love them. All my future parts will be from them purely because I don't like mixing suspension parts companies.

Hey man you should look at UPR products stuff! i have their k-member kit, with a arms, lakewood 90/10 struts, coil over drag springs, and bbk caster camber plates in the front (along with a bump steer kit)
The stuff works fine for daily driving, obviously the drag stuff is going to take away from ride cumfort but i really dont care about that Its not the highest quality of suspension, but you arnt giving your left and right arm for it either! here are some picks of my install for ya!

No comment on the dirty rusty underside
