Default Engine "recovery mode"
When I switched my '89 5.0 from automatic to 5 speed everything has been fine with the exception of occassional stalling if I have to quickly let off gas at higher rpms...the recovery mode (I assume in the computer) must be set differently for auto vs. manual.

My question, is there anyway to solve this short of a computer module swap? I'd rather not do that as the car runs fine and I'm afraid I might just add more variables to the mix.

Thoughts? Thanks!

You may just need a new IAC. Yours could be slow to react.
