Question installing new coil springs
Is there a trick or a specific spring compressor that needs to be used when putting the front springs back in? I've got one that has the rod that goes up the middle of the spring but it seems that the rod is too long to clear the upper cross member.
I've tried it with the sway bar end link attached and disconnected and I can't seem to get the angle of the spring to sit in the top isolator or the control arm. Any tips?

What kind of spring compressor do you have? The center one I have seems to be too long and the outside strut compressor hits the control arm. I might try hooking up the ball joint, sway bar end link, tie rod, and dropping the bolts on the control arm next.

I've got a set of eibach pro's that I'm putting in and I just can't get enough room. Right now, I don't even have the ball joint connected, only the control arm. I think I might try connecting everything back up and dropping the control arm bolts and jack it if I can find a different spring compressor.

It's an outer clamping compressor I bought from NAPA and cut down the screws. Clamps it down just enough to be able to easily use a jack to go the rest of the way. I made it to get those big moroso drag springs under the front of my Chevelle. Works good on the Mustangs as well

I was running into similar problems when installing my eibach pro's. There are many different approaches to installing these.
Some guys disconnect the strut pinch bolts, endlink and caliper and pivot the control arm downwards. Then they use a prybar and pry it into its seat in the LCA. Then jack it up with a jack. This method is easiest with two people.
Other leave all that stuff hooked up, and just disconnect the LCA to crossmember bolts.
None of those methods worked for me. I used a spring compressor. I believe it was OTC 7045B.
If you do undo the LCA to crossmember bolts, make sure you torque them with the weight of the vehicle on the control arm.
