Default C-clip elminator ?

Hi guys k i just finished the install of my c clip elminators and i have one question. All went well except when they say tighten the bolts that hold the bearing to the axle flange to 30 ft lbs and no more, k well i tightened down my d/s to that torque spec no problem and can spin the axle, when i went to do the p/s i tighten it down to 30 ft lbs and it jams up, i assume its crushing the bearing too much, I checked my install height as they say in the instructions, and it matches up good. If i back off the bolts a lil bit axle spins fine. Now should i be safe to assume its ok or should i worry about reaching that 30 ft lbs of torque?

I've had this problem several times doing C clip Elem. I had to grind a small amount off the ends of the axles. They jam on the cross pin and lock up the axle

k well i'm running a moser full spool portmaster so i don't have that cross pin, also i installed only the p/s axle the one that would lock up by itself and tighten it down to their specs of 30 ft lbs and it locks up.

Try switching the axles from side to side and see if the problem shows up on the opposite side. At least then you will know if the problem is in the housing or axle

k well guys i figured out what was wrong, now i wanna hear if you guys have ever come across this. After swapping axle sides like portmaster said, my one axle kept getting jammed up. Now mind you i bought these axles used but they are strange axles "35 splines" w/c clip elminators already on them. I started examing the one axle closer and found out the wedding ring on one of them is .250 bigger then the other one. I just dremeled my tube abit bigger and it works fine now, just wondering do u have to do this>>>??

Does the wedding rings come different sizes from left to right? any thoughts?

wedding ring? Are you talking about the bearing retainer? Did you pull the old seal and wheel bearings out of the tubes?

yes the bearing retainer, when talking to tech support at strange they called it a wedding ring, and yes i did pull the bearings out. Wrks good now, just thought it was strange that i had a little thicker bearing retainer on one axle then the otherside.
