Cars running 10.0's use the Air Gap. It all depends on your combination, engine size and carb size. You will probably see a torque increase over what you have right now.

You will prob see a decrease in overall power and a a rise in peak power. The Air Gap is the best dual plane on the market right now (Personal opinion) but for your engine it's a little big unless your car weighs less than 2500 lbs. The performer is a great intake for a small headed 302 up to about 5500 rpm

I'm running an rpm air gap that has been ported to the max and it works well, you most likely won't notice a huge gain in power.

Just by the name of the intake RPM means to get the power out of it your gonna need to turn some RPMs. Edelbrock says the range for that intake is 1500-6500 where your old performer intake worked idle-5500. Your E303 cam works between 2500-5500 rpms. I would also think that your GT40 heads are the GT40 heads from an explorer or mountianeer not the GT40 heads that ford sells aftermarket. Which would mean a lower rpm opperating range as they were built for mass market street duty.

If you wanted to make power past 5500 rpm I would get a new cam/lifters/valve springs that are more suited for higher rpm opperations. I am sure your valves float at around 6000 if not less so your not even going to see the higher revs that the intake supports.

Also out running your cam isn't going to make more power if they say 5500 is where it stops making power I would take their word for it. They are usually right in my experiance when they tell you where a cam starts making power so why not trust them when they say where it stops.

well the heads i have are gt-40s not gt-40ps which are the heads outta the explorer and moutaineer. if im correct. and thanks alot for your input hit helps when someone explains themselves rather than just saying ya or nay about something. i really dont wanna do a cam swap without doing a head swap. if the intakes not gonna be any better than the one i have i will just save it for when i get some aluminum heads and a bigger cam. i read in the ultimate cylinder head test they did in mm&ff. This same set up with the edelbrock rmp air gap intake and the gt-40 heads. and a cam with a little bigger lift. i think it was .511 stead of .498 made 352 hp. guess that little bit bigger of a cam made that big of a differencE?
