Default Which thermostat do you run?

Do you run a 160, 180 or 195?? And why?

I thought about dropping in a 180. Good power range though not the most fuel efficient.

195. Best for long engine life.

I run a 180. If you run any colder than 176ish, the car won't go into closed-loop.

Varying ideas! I am in Dallas. Could I go either way? 180 or a 195? Which is the best one to go with?

I like running 180 deg. on the 5.0's.

I ran a 160 many years ago and even w/ cardboard in the radiator it would take a long time to warm up in the winter and thinned out the oil (ran rich) on my '85.

180 here. go for the "fail safe" brand. when it fails it goes open and not closed./
