It appears that this project is going to have to wait til I get a full time job. (graduating in May w/ a degree with honors in mechanical engineering, and good work experience...if anyone knows of opportunities...hit me up. :-) ) so I want to plan the entire set up together and do it right the first time.

Car is a 77 cobra II. So it weighs in pretty light, right around 2800 lbs including driver. I'm not looking to build a drag car, but I'd like to aim for an 11.5 1/4 mile on street tires. I have a T-5 and that's what I'm gonna stick with. the differential is a stock ford 8". I'm gonna build it with 3.8 gears and probly a trac-lock.

Question is, what will serve my purposes better to reach that ET with that set up. 331 or 347? and what kind of a build with it?
