Default Header leak still

ok well i tried hedman and flowtech headers both leaking tried copper dead soft aluminum regular gaskets and copper silicone with a copper gasket either way still got a header leak, my dumbass must not be tightenin em right and im goin insane, im trying red high temp silicone without a gasket this time and any advice on a way to tighten em or what not to do?

what headers do you have on the car?? if they are flowtech, you need the real seal flowtech 5 layer aluminum crush gasket, trust me it'll work, I have such

im using headman now im leavin the header on overnight for it to cure with the red high temp silicone on it, i used the percys aluminum ones which are the same thing pretty much as flowtech and that didnt work on the flowtech

i dont, i just use the basic gaskets and torque them down the way i found works the best for me. im runnin mac l/t's

Red rtv is the greatest material known to man! no gasket just rtv it worked at least for now

I use the 5 layer metal gaskets and I dont have any leaks with my flowtechs. (aside from the stupid collector

you can rtv headers too........ i thought it stopped at head gaskets.

My buddy ryan used silicone on his got a ls2 in a s10 and his havent leaked yet so maybe ill get lucky like him.

If you've already tried all those different gaskets. Maybe the problem is not with the gasket.

Check the flange for imperfections, like the weld from the flange to the header tube.
A crack in a header tube. Rust down by the collector. Even a collector leak. The ball socket may have a dent in it.

Next time you remove the header. Closely inspect the used gasket. It will have clues as to where the problem is.

The small block Ford has a good exhaust port/flange layout. 2 bolts per port and every port seperate. Usually the cheapest most basic gasket will seal these suckers up.
