Default Possible Clutch Cable Issues...

Hi guy,
Another nice weekend, another broken part.
Here's the problem; I was driving, and between shifts a heard a "snap" and the clutch pedal just went to the floor. I can not get it into gear unless the car is off, and decided to tow it home. There is no resistance in the clutch pedal and I am assuming that I broke my clutch cable. Input is appreciated.
Thanks.

Thats what it sounds like. Look under the dash and see if you see the cable hanging on the quadrant. Ive had two break where they touch the quadrant.

Its still attached to the quadrant, but I can pull the cable with my fingers and there is zero tension on it and it doesnt retract back. Cable broken?

is it adjustable?
look under at the clutch fork where the cable goes. (next to trans) see if the cable is on the fork. it may have came out of the fork if it was not tight enough. make sure the fork is not bent or broken.

It's a really easy fix...Nothing to worry about really. Just order an adjustable cable. Took me about 20 mins to put my first one in, just by following how the old one looked. The toughest part was fitting my *** into the car so I could see the quadrant, lol.

OK. Thanks for the input all. Should I stick with OEM ford cable, or "upgrade" to a steeda cable, aluminum quadrant and firewall adjuster?

just upgrade it while you are there. That way you can adjust when your clutch engages to your liking.
