t5 out of Thunderchicken turbo coupe?
I have a blown t5 in my 83 gt. I have a friend who has a thunderbird 2.3 turbo coupe with a 5 speed.
Will this tranny swap in place of my dead t5? if it will is it a direct or semi direct swap?

yes its a direct swap but youll need to change the pilot bearing, youll need a 83 ford ranger with a 2.2 diesel pilot bearing, cause the input shaft nose is a smaller diameter than the v8 t-5 nose. just know that the 4 cyl trans has different ratios, they resemble the close ratio 4 speeds back in the day. ive been using one for quite a while now and its still holding up rather well. good luck
