is the knock the same all the time? Hot Cold? what is it like when you rev it? is it a knock or a tap? got any sound clips you can post up? one thing we would do would be to kill each cly. one at a time to see if that would make it go away and that would help use narrow it down to where and what cly. was having issues worked sometimes not always. But like said before just taking it apart and putting it back together don't fix it very often LOL.

same knock hot and cold, probably one of the lifters from what everyone made it sound like, just making sure the cause of a lifter knock could result from low oil.

Check your bearings. Where the bits of metal or aluminum flakes in the oil?

auto or stick I have had a cracked flex plate knock like mad also. or the converter bolts come loose. I have not seen to many lifters knock but I have lots of them tap. can you get up any sound clips? also like said have you looked at your oil? you can also cut the oil filter apart and take a look to see how much metal is in it also.

in the process of drilling out some broken bolts for the timing cover/water pump out of the block so havent had time to take any sound clips. 5 speed manual, just put new flywheel on no knocking from there, definately an engine knock/tick. Also anyone know a good way to get the powersteering pully off?

rent a special pulley removal tool, but no need to remove pulley if all you want is the assembley out of the way, it slides on a long stud and once the nut is removed you can slide assembley off

i actually just bought a billet bracket for it and i have to remove the pully, the bracket that was on the car was all rigged up and looked like hell. I cant get the bolt loose that holds the pully on, is there anyway to stop the pump from spinning to break it loose.

actually there is a 3/8 allen head bolt in the center of the pully, i am assuming that needs to come out before i can use a puller on it. and after 3 broken drill bits and one broken bolt extractor im about to give up on the timing cover bolts. how can i drill and tap these holes with broke drill bits in them, im seriously done with the frustration of all these problems.
