Default Motor build questions

i have a 302 hydralic flat tappet motor that im gonna have bored over to a 306. The block is going to be line honed and the decks are gonna be paralleled and the heads shaved 40 thousands. They are gt40p heads. now what im looking at is what cam to do. the pistons are going to be forged with 4 valve reliefs. stock rods and crank. i have an edlebrock performer intake and a holley 600cfm carb. ill have the motorsport shorties and 2.25 exhaust to magnaflows and tailpipes fully welded. how much power do you think it would make at the crank and what are the possible combos that you recommend for this build?
Thanks

what cam would you run if this was your build?
or what would run to make 330-350 at the crank with a parts budget of 1000 thats just for parts.

if it were mine I'd put a 650 dp on it, change intake to an rpm air gap, have the p heads ported and have a custom cam designed and at least 1 5/8's long tubes with 2 1/2 exhaust minimun and have an adequate fuel system, but all this may take you over budget. with this set up you should come close to 300 rwhp, I had a friend with a simialar set up and it had an f-cam that put down 289 rwhp and heads were not ported and bottom end was well worn, with a better ring seal he'd of been over 300 easy.

I think by taking .040 off the heads and decking the block anything you gain from compression will be lost in poor port alignment with the intake manifold. You would need to have the intake milled as well to correct the misalignment. As far as the cam goes with your intake and carb/head combo I'd go with a Comp XE262H flat tappet hyd cam. Look to make around 290-300 at the crank well tuned

Always!!

This is the best route to go. Comes with the Cam, Lifters, Timing chain, Valve springs, Retainers, Locks, valve seals and cam lube. You know you have the right stuff and it's high quality.
