Default cleaning fuel injectors

i've read an article that says there is a filter in the fuel injector but the parts store doesnt have a filter for them. i'm wanting to make sure the injectors are as clean as I can get them before installing them when replacing the intake. will just soaking them in fuel injector cleaner work or is there another method? thinking that then can be connected to open up so that air/fluid flows, whats the easiest way to hook that up?
