on another note though I've heard ported GT40s come close/beat the 165s, any thoughts on that?

will it out perform the afr 165's? I dunno... But for less then half the price they'll do the trick for me.

I went with thumper performance and am happy with them. However I have spoken to Mike @ thumper, and he told me while I was asking about valve size, and told me the biggest in an E7 head would be a 1.94, and even going that large you have some shouding.

I went with the 1.84/1.54 undercut GT40 Swirl Valves, happy with the results.

fyi for those who don't know, you can get afr's new set up to the cam you have designed, you just have to know who to buy them from
