Default New and need some performance tips

Im new to mustang forums and i live in south florida. I have a 1984 mustang and i need some help with some questions. My car already has subframe connectors, and dumps. I dont know much else about it except that it has a upgraded cam. Im turning my mustang into a rat rod, so everything is stripped out; back seat passenger seat, carpet on the floor, and anything else i could find. I need advice on what kind of heads, headers, and anyother performance parts would be best for me. Budget is about $3000 for now. Thank you.

Well, what we really need to know is exactly what kind of cam it has, that will really help in the head selection department, you want your intake and heads to flow evenly with the cam, in other words, you don't want to bottle neck yourself somewhere.

Also, how far do you want to take the car? Where do you want your performance/power (low end, mid, high). How much stock drivability do you want to retain?

And since the car is stripped out, i'm thinking about just putting in a roll cage because im looking to eventually push this car to 400+ hp. Its going to be a street car for now, but not for long
