Default How Far is To Far

I advanced my timing to 14 degrees, and shortly after put 87 in my car by accident and didnt realize till i had 5 gallons in... So i decided to run it and see what happened.. No ping or knockt all. So I'm thinkin of bumbing it up more.. Any benifit???? or just dumb to do?

I figured it would be more trial n error, I guess the real question is. Is their noticable power to be had by going to say 16 or 17 degrees. I mean if it pings or knocks just ease it back a little.. Just not sure if the available power is woth the risk????

in 2005 my afr/comp cam/rpm intake/ timing was set at 12* timing made like 277hp..bumped timing to 18* ran it again and made 309hp

a stock motor won't see that i don't think

Just put in 93 and you can easily go up to 16. There are not many guys that run higher than 18-19.

That helps, thanks for the info.. we'll see what happens.. When I got the car the timming was at 8* the bumb to 14* made a big difference..

^^^ that is true,but you'd crap if you seen the timing table's at light loads..

well atleast with my pms programmer at low speeds and cruising speeds i saw 44* total and 50* total...they say it's normal,but it made me making some phone calls fast
