Clunking noise in back? Shocks?
There is a clunking noise that comes from the rear suspension of my car. It occurs only when I am costing over bumps, when I accelerate, it does not happen. I can re-produce it if I lift the back of the car up hand and let it back down. The vertical shocks do their job, meaning they are nice and tight and when I adjust them from 5 to 1, there is a massive difference in stiffness when you push down on the back of the car. They are Tokico 5-ways. Is it possible for them to be bad and make this noise, even when they still "work"? Is it the quad shocks? I guess I can pull both the quads and the vertical shocks off and see it they make that noise. I did a brief check of bolt tightness and bushings and they all seem ok to me? It is also not the hatch, because I was testing the shocks with it open. What do you guys think? THANKS!!
