surging at idle, need help

if you haven't messed with those and the car previously ran fine , that most likely is not the root cause, yes exhaust leaks before o2's will cause unmetered air to enter and skew o2 readings and create lean/rich condition and hence the surge.

by the way my tab and tad and egr are unplugged...no need for them since i have a o/r h pipe and no emissions where i live

mj46 i fixed my exhaust leak at the headers with 2 new studds. nothing changed except the under the hood noise is cured , which is good. but still surging. i also need to figure out how to get my stock tach working again since installing the crane cams fireball. ive tried everything but no tach, so i dont even know what im surging to right now.
the compression on the motor is fine so i ruled that out its 150 almost all the way across the board ones at 160 but all are 150-155psi.
maybe a bad act sensor?im trying to pull codes right now, but first im doing my timing to be sure its okay as well

just for laughs i switched everything back to speed density, the thing purred!!!! but with maf it runs like it has a major cam in it!sometimes it smooth out.

i whent for a drive the throttle response felt kinda sensative when i let off the gas. a little bit jumpy so i retarded the timing from 20degrees to bout 12, it felt like alot less power then after coming off the freeway the car was all jumpy like never before. i dont know how to describe it i wasnt sure if i was going to make it home, it was not fun it got worse when i hit the gas or let off like doing 35mph in 3gear was nasty jerky feeling. something is really wrong here.what do you guys think im at a loss
