Question A few Wiring issues...

I am a little new to these forums, but not at all to the Mustang community... im 23 and have had a 1966 mustang that I rebuilt when i was 17.

I was looking for advice and any criticism anyone on here may have on a particular bunch of issues with my 1984 mustang

Heres the run down on the car..

1984 Mustang
302 from a 92'
gt-40 Heads
E303 cam
weiand intake
Holly 4150 650cfm
MSD 6AL ign
MSD Distributor
full MAC exhaust

WC T-5
Ram clutch
3.73 gears
moser 28 spline axles
Ford Traction-LOK LSD

Body- Its a 93 LX exterior with a 6 point cage interior

Ive had the car for 3 years now, i originally had purchased the car to transplant the drivetrain into my 66', but i just was having to much fun building it up.

So the car has been sitting for a year now, and I have some plans i would like to get it ready for.

I use to drive this car as my everyday driver and I had a couple issues with the car..

one issue that always kinda of Urked me, was the electrical system had a couple groundouts, some of which i found, but under the dash, the previous owner had so much splicing and just hacked up the wiring overall in the whole car, so lights would flicker on and off, radio would work when it felt like, things that just simply drove you crazy.

As i have a new daily driver, I want to build this car into a street legal track car...and btw, im using the term street legal very loosely here, I will be running no interior, i just want to pass safety and get a license plate.

So my plan is to electronically make the car extremely sound. My plan to do this is to rip out the dash wiring, and engine wiring and go with a universal "painless" harness and start from scratch. New gauges, new wiring, nice heat shrinks, move the MSD inside and all safety features sanctioned for SCCA events.

I am here to ask the community if this is a method I should approach, or shud I just try and clean the wiring up?

Mechanically the vehicle is sound and very strong and stout.

The electrical is the only issue that concerns me..

other things on the list of "things to do" are...

Brake upgrade
Aluminum Drive shaft
Change rear gear ratios to something more track friendly
Everything to pass tech inspection for my class

Any input and criticism is welcome... THANKS GUYS!!
