Default A Couple Concerns

First concern is this:

I don't know why this is this way, but do I need to be concerned? I was willed this car and I am not familiar with Fords at all.

The other is the radiator, it looks like the shroud was cut into and the blades of the fan look like they were clipped a bit, is a stock radiator this thick, or is this an aftermarket 3 row?

Thanks in advance!

I know, it's filthy...lol. It has been sitting under a tree for almost 2 years and I can only do so much...one step at a time.

the 5.0 plate is just a cover for the bolts to get the intake off. as for the shroud it might cause cooling issues but if it does a quick junkyard run will do the trick. also the coolant port on your intake is bypassed or missing. if its bypassed but you still have egr flow you will fry your tps.

I pulled it off when I was going to rip the radiator out, but I plugged it back in, thanks for the great eye though. As for the plate, I will fix that later since it is nothing of major importance. The radiator Radiator Barn sent me looks like it is from an 89 Honda Civic, it is nowhere as thick as that one.

Is this radiator sufficient enough, or should I go with a 2 row?

The car doesn't have many mods, just exhaust, cold air intake, rearend gears that I know of. Is getting a 2 row overkill?

if its not acting up now then there is no reason to change it. it wont make it perform any better. are you having issues with your cooling system as it is now?

Before my friend passed, he told me that the radiator was leaking really bad. I have not seen anything come out of it for the hour, or so I have had it started, totally dry. I know his dad replace all the injectors and a shop did about $2,500 of work to the car about 2 years ago, they may have repaired the radiator then.

Is it possible the hole/crack in the radiator is still there and just rusted over the 2 years it was sitting? This may be a dumb question, but I don't know if that is a possibility. How would they test the radiator, do they do a pressure check?

yes there is a cooling system pressure tester. you can always pull the rad and flush it yourself....after sitting for two years im sure there is some kind of build up in the rad...then you can find out if it has a leak.
