tailshaft leak
Ok i know i shouldnt of ran the car with the driveshaft needing balanced but i did. i only drove it maybe 250 miles. now i have tranny fluid leaking outta the tailshaft, im thinking the vibration just ruined the seal? its a 90 mustang n i never really worked much on tranny issues but it looks like you could drop the exhaust and unhook the tailshaft n replace it, has anyone did that before? hoping i didnt jack something up real bad...

An unbalanced driveshaft will destroy seals with ease. It's a cake job, get a good book and follow the directions. Have a local Ford dealer make you some copies out of the manual, get a case of beer and a nice sunday afternoon - good to go.
THEN, have that same dealer balance your shaft with it on the car. Shaftmasters can balance a tube and a few u joints, but the on-car balance with two hose clamps is not only MORE accurate than the static balance from S/M but the on-car balance will compensate for imbalances in your pinion flange and output shaft. Shouldn't charge you more than 1 labor hour (in the absolute worst case scenario) and the price of two wimpy hose clamps. The tool literally walks you through the process. If you can read english - you can balance a shaft with the tool.
Not all dealers have the tool required to do this though..... its called an MTS4000 and its about $2500 a pop so the bigger the dealer - the more likely they got the goods.

ok so if i'd take it to the Ford garage they'd def have the tool n it would take less than an hr? im def not gonna drive it up there i dont want anymore fluid leaking out i had a 10" circle where i lost fluid this morning, i dont think thats really gonna affect the tranny fluid level.

I can't tell you for sure if anybody has anything. I don't even know if your local store has a book for a 90. I have it, so if you can't find a book I'll either paraphrase the procedure or figure out a way to post it.
You can call them to find this stuff out. Dealers are familiar with the telephone. That way you won't waste a trip.
I have been to literally hundreds of Ford dealerships and although few of them have this new, expensive tool - you may be lucky enough to have one near you. Just ask the service manager if he has the tool and/or can balance a shaft for you.
