Default Rear End Question

My 90 has never had the rear dif fluid changed (very rusty). There is a
balancer on the dif. Does that need to come off prior to fill up?
I say yes because of its location relative to the fill plug.

Just take about 18" of flexible tubing, drill a hole in the cap of the fluid bottle, stick the tubing down to the bottom and squeeze! Makes filling a snap.
