Default Rear Lower Control Arms

I am replacing my entire rear diff. I am trying to get the bolt out of the lower control arm closest to the diff. I can't get this thing out for the life of me. I have tried a hammer and punch and soaking it in WD40. I can spin it with a wrench but thats it.

Is there an easier way to remove this damn thing?

Have you tried supporting the control arms at different heights?

Yeah I've tried no weight and several different heights and it didn't help.

Well if you're certain it's only held on by friction, get a bigger hammer. This same thing happened to me with a friends Supra and a heavy heavy mallet solved fixed that right damn quick.

You might also try heat if you have a safe accessable source.

I think its the 22 year old bushing. When I spin the bolt the bushing turns as well.

I've tried several BAH's (big as hammers) and still no luck. I thought about heating the bushing.

heat it up with a torch. the bushing will catch fire so be ready. the steel sleeve that goes thru the bushing is rusted to the bolt.id put new lower control arms on it. summit brand is fine, tubular and red. they come with greasable poly bushing . much nicer than stock.

Yeah def sounds like your bolt is totally rusted into the sleeve inside the bushing. Really the only way out is to cut it out.. As stated before you may as well get a new pair of control arms/hardware..
