Default MSD ignition box

Ok, yesterday me and my budy tried hooking up a MSD street fire ignition box to complete my system on my 95 GT(distributer, coil, plugs and wires). We followed the diagram, hooked everything up, checked and rechecked our conections but when I went to start it up it would crank and fire for a second then the box shuts down, IE the led light goes of and the engine goes back to cranking. We spend two hours trying to figure it out but could get it to work. I have it hooked up for a TFI coil setup, our tach wire is T spliced into the wire coming of the ignition control module and were not useing the magnetic conector of the distributor IE the diagram. Any help or insight would be great.

Call MSD tech line, they'll help and usually have no wait time.

It's really hard to diagnose this kind of problem over the internet machine. I just installed a 6AL-2 and the installation was pretty straight forward. Isn't there a diagnoses chart that came with the box?

sounds like you have the 12 volt source wire hooked up to "start mode". instead of "key on mode".so it sends the voltage while you crank ,then goes away when you stop cranking. you need a wire that has 12 volts only at key on and crank mode. not key off or key back.
