5 quarts of oil.. 10w-30 is what i run in mine and is what most people use. If you have leaks underneath then go alittle heavier. If youre under the car changing the filter.. dont get directly underneath it or else youll get rained on by oil(from experience)

5 quarts with a filter change, use motorcraft filter FL-1A.

As far as a type, regular old 5 or 10w30.

Gauge issues...hmm bad senders perhaps.

go to autozone and ask the guy behind the counter, also buy a repair manual from their

as for the oil

Motorcraft FL-1A
10w30 or 10w40(I use SuperTech since 5.0s commonly burn a quart every 1,000 miles)

I just changed my oil yesterday. Advance has a deal
Castrol 5 quarts and a filter for under 15.00. Castrol is good stuff.
Remember you have 2 plugs on the oil pan.

As far as antifreeze could be your water pump. I had to change my water pump when i bought my car.
