Want to bypass smog pump... any issues?

WTF, I am a dumbass. I am glad I just realized this. thank-you addermk, I will definantly take a look at your concern.

Guess I was thinking about the old belt set-ups. I didn't know it was impossible to not run a water pump the wrong way on a sepentine style set-up.

sweet, i am going to get rid of mine too. It probably doesn't work anyway.

about the only thing youll gain is less weight mine is still there but there is no belt going to it i just need help with removing it completely so if anyone can show me what i need to block off and how to remove it completely that would be very helpful

it is possible to run it standard rotation and it would be the wrong way with the stock pump/timing cover and it would overheat. you just have to make sure you belt routing works with the accessory set up your are going to have. example im going standard rotation with crank, alt, WP only. that spins the WP the other way and i need standard rotation cover and WP.

i'm running crank, WP and alt only, and I didnt need a standard rotation pump!

anything to save me a buck! did you leave the alt in the stock location and loop the belt under the waterpump pully?

how did you mount your tensioning arm? pics?

i figure if i do it that way i would have to put it on the bottom side to create enough tension...right?
