Default aod guys take a look

I've got a 90lx with aod trans, this is a play car for the street and local 1000ft drag. What is a good rear end gear for these transmissions? I did a search and didnt find many results for the aod's/ Im also planning on a higher stall mabye 2000-2500rpm.

I'd say 4.10s if it is not a DD. Or you can go with 3.73s if you plan on driving it a lot.

i have 4:10 gears and they make the car feel so much different.
a stall would make the aod a lot better. I would suggest getting a trans cooler and if you want to have more fun with your automatic get a B&M hammer shifter

The AOD suffers from a crappy low gear, so I would go 4.10 if you don't drive it on the freeway. Don't skimp on the converter either, a decent converter will cost you a minimum of $350 for a 2400 - 2600 stall. Stay away from anything cheaper than that. I haven't been happy with any converter or shift kit from B&M, but that's just me. Edge Racing Converters makes a quality product for the AOD http://www.edgeracingconverters.com/...&products_id=1

You state it's a play car so with the AOD i'd go 4:56 for 1000 ft. The OD will take care of the small amount of street duty

4.10's

70mph is about 2300-2400rpm in that range.
(depend's on your tire size and such)
