Solid Engine mounts vs OEM engine mounts

I'd assume that solid mounts disallow any movement and therefore any slight shift in weight which would alter the physics of the car.
So the PRO would be better overall performance out of your ride, but unless you haul *** all around town or are driving a purpose built vehicle it wouldn't be worth it because the CON would probably be more vibration and noise not getting absorbed by the slightly softer mounts.
I would also have to wonder if damage to something is more likely on account of heavy hunk of metal bolted under your hood is losing that little bit of give.
This is just my attempt at a guess, and I could be very wrong.

Yeah, solid are more sturdy but it's unlikely you need solid, and they'll vibrate the hell out of your car. Poly will absorb some vibration, but are much more sturdy than factory rubber mounts and they typically use a through bolt design that prevents the mount from coming totally loose if it fails.

I've run solid mounts on many of my street driven cars. No big deal and it's all about strength. I wouldn't hit a hog in the azz with a stock monunt on any perfromance vehicle. The Poly monnts are the best of both worlds. It absorbs some vibration and is very very sturdy, I'm using the Energy Suspension Poly mounts on my car.

^^^ nailed it on the head. OEM mounts are likely to crack/break and not support higher hp mods down the road. Whereas solid mounts create lots of chassis vibrations and unless you're running with a huge amount of torque you wont need them. polyurethane mounts provide the in between of the solid and oem type mounts.

The vibration of solid can be an aggrivation after a while. Some people don't mind it that much, but like Adder said, split the difference. Poly provides all the strength you need with less vibration than solid.
