Default Carb replacement

I've got an '83 GT with the Motorcraft/Holley 4bbl. (600cfm) I'm tired of d!cking around with it, so I'm looking for a good, but affordable replacement. Should I go with an edlebrock intake/carb or can I use my current intake with a Holley avenger? Any other options out there? Higher mileage stock engine, but it doesn't burn any oil. Thanks.

well to be honest..the edelbrock is a great carb for a stock engine....they run good right out the box but are touchy when put on a hipo engine ...a holley will out perform it easy on a non-stock engine...if it's a fairly racial engine then the Demon is the ticket...the holley allow for easier adjustment. the motorcraft is an old design and should be tossed aside..
