how do I tow/move my mustang thats stuck in gear?
I need to have my 89 Mustang Gt Auto towed to a friends house so we can replace the transmission but it's stuck in drive and won't go in neautral. How do I have it towed or can it be towed? Thanks for any help.

depends on how you want it done. They can drag it up on a roll back with a winch, use a wheel lift, or hang it off a traditional 'hook' style sling. Or you can disconect the drive shaft and flat tow it with a buddy.

Either disconnect the driveshaft from the differential, 4 bolts hold it on as said before, or flatbed. You can also try moving the shift linkage manually from under the car, on the drivers side. Push the lever that's pointing down, toward the engine. Should put it in park.

Know what works real good? You know those wheel dolleys that they sell to roll cars around that are being resto'd? Stick one of those under the rear pumpkin, or buy two of them and use both rear wheels.
Don't forget, and I cannot stress this enough: Your rear wheels, obviously, are the "park" wheels. Don't leave the car sitting on a steep incline or anything like that, unless the driveline is hooked up and the rear wheels are on the ground.
