Default Swapping ECM (computers) AOD to T5

Swapping ECM (computers) AOD to T5 and T5 into an AOD

The car below (1993) used to have an AOD in it, and I bought another 5.0 (1992) and swapped trannys. Now Im selling the 92 (new AOD) and keeping the 93 vert (T5). Would the computers need to be changed out? I have read a couple places where I need to change them out and some are saying no. Like the T5 (ECM) wont work in the AOD or something to that effect.

I have driven the car below now for about 7 months no problems. Its the one that has the T5 in it now and used to have the AOD. (except for heat under the hood, in another post on this forum)

I am selling the newly added AOD (1992 hatch) and havent driven it yet. So I need to know what will work in what cars before I go advertising. I am trying to sell it without testing out first, just more money on getting it on the road. The 92 seems fine in the driveway without swapping computers.

Thanks

From what I know you can use an auto computer in a T5 car but not a T5 computer in an auto car.
Hopefully others will chime in and give you the real story. The Auto computer has some slightly better factory tuning.Just try and see if the T5 box works in the auto.

I'd just swap the t-5 computer into the t-5 car and the same with the AOD... swapping the ECM is pretty much, take off kick panel, unbolt/unplug computer, reinstall... prolly half an hour job..
