Default Battery Dying issue

I tried to start my car yesterday and it was dead.. All it make was a fast paced tick noise. I jumped the battery and the car ran great. Let it run for about 10 mins. I turned it off and tried to start it again and it was dead again. I just replaced the voltage regulator a few weeks ago and took the alternator to Kragen and they said it was fine. Maybe the battery itself is shot?

HAVE THE BATTERY TESTED OR if you can remove the caps , check each individual cells specific gravity and look for a dead cell.

Can a dead battery be tested? Or does it have to be charged? I can run up to kragens and get it tested

Check to see if the car is charging the battery. An easy way but not 100% way to tell is with a voltmeter. Should be about 12.6 with the engine off and 13 or 14 volts while it's running.

Take it to NAPA and have them test the battery, if you have another car you should be able to drop it off. they will load test it and charge it for you, Advanced, AutoZone and PepBoys also do the same.

The battery has to be charged prior to being load tested.
