ok i have a 86 mustang gt, i wanted some vector valve covers for Christmas. my father told me i cant because there isnt enough clearance between the new valve covers and the intake. does this make sense or is he just pullin my leg?

The only help I have for the clearance issue is a Phenolic Spacer. Here is a link to what I was thinking of http://www.shop.speedunlimited.com/p...40-intake.aspx

I know it's for a GT 40, but they may make them for stock 302's. Ok EDIT, I think I got it this time.Link http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/15480...oductId=759799

You cannot run the taller valve covers becasuse they will hit the bottom of your lower intake so he is not pulling your chain haha. get a spacer and go to town!

Well I did not find spacers, but here are chrome stockers from American Muscle.

waste of money IMHO, you can remove yours and polish them for about $20 worth of materials... and a day of work.
