Default Oil Pump/Dizzy Install Problem

I tried searching and tried all the recommended procedues but i still cant get the dizzy to align with the oil pump shaft. I tried bumping the engine over but the shaft is laying against the wall and wont center in the hole. I dont understand how to get it to center in the hole. Ive spent the past 5 months turning this car from an auto 4 cyl to a t5 306 and im so close to finishing the car. Is it possble to take the shaft out or get it centered without dropping the oil pan? If i take the shaft out of the pump and place it in the distributor and drop it all in together would that work? This is killing me guys i need HELP!!!

Have you tried to put anything down there ? Long Screwdriver ? Socket w/ extension (taped on tightly) ?

Does the shaft have the round clip on it to prevent it from coming out, like it should? It sounds like it's not totally seated correctly in the oil pump.

use a magnet rod and then when you get it in the oil pump completely slide towards the magnet towards the wall so the shaft won't try to come out with it
