Car seems as if it's hitting a rev limiter...
I'm not really sure what's up. Timing is around 12*. New plugs, fairly new wires. New cap and rotor, fairly new TFI module. Car has no o2 sensors so it runs extremely rich, but always has and I've never encountered this problem. The problem first occurred after I rebuilt the motor.
When the car is under a load ( WOT acceleration) and it gets around 3,000rpms or higher it sounds like it's hitting a rev limiter. It sounds like a machine gun and won't increase in RPMs or create any power. If I back off the throttle to say 1/4 or 1/2 throttle, it'll pull fine and go through the entire RPM range. Any ideas? I have factory ignition.

YOU HAVE A BAD DISTRIBUTOR. Or more specifically the Hall Effects sensor in the Dizzy is bad. I had this exact problem last year. It took me two months and countless hours of work to figure the problem out.

Because I don't currently have 80$ for a pair of o2 sensors and 50$ for the extension harness for long tubes. Regardless, the car has been missing o2 sensors since the first day I bought it and I've NEVER encountered this problem. This leads me to believe that they are not the cause of the problem.
Also, it seems to only have this problem once it's fully warmed up. When it's cold it's ok.

Not that I know of. There's a link that helped me figure the problem out more clearly. I'll try and find it. Pull the cap and rotor. The wheel that the rotor sits on is called an armature. There are two little screws that hold it on. Take it off and clean the rust off with some steel wool or fine sandpaper. If your "stator" is loose you'll have to replace it. You can always buy a remanufactured dizzy from Autozone. But it's still going to cost $150+. I know they have a rebuild kit for relatively cheap.I am positive that this is your problem.
